Fool Me Once (International Romance Series Book 2) eBook: Mona Ingram: irapupif.tk: Kindle Store
By now, you all know that I love Catherine Bybee and for me, every single book of hers is simply a masterpiece. Well, that's more than true for Fool Me Once. It is intriguing, fun, suspenseful, romantic and of course hot. With every single page, I was more and more captivated by the characters and their story. I loved the secrets that were revealed one by one and the connection with the Weekday Brides series was just awesome. It was great seeing the other side of the coin, the marriages that stayed purely business. But Lori, is not one of the Alliance brides.
She is the layer that makes sure the Alliance clients are not taken advantage of, the one who helps them get on their feet after their divorces.
Because of her career and her personal experience, she is quite jaded and for her love and marriage are too high of a risk that quite often end up with a high price tag. But you know what they say about best laid plans and all that: D Everything for her changes when she meets Reed.
She does try to resist but in the end everything is futile to his charm and persistence. The relationship between Lori and Reed is passionate and hot, but unfortunately not everything is what it looks like. And there are secrets that can destroy everything they build together. But with danger lurking around the corner and meddling friends who think that second chance are worth giving every now and then, Lori and Reed find their second chance at love, a second chance of a relationship that could heal the wounds from the past. I won't reveal anything else but keep in mind that the book is a must read.
There suspense, love, secrets, chemistry and everything else that will make you crave more: So don't waste any time and pick yourself a copy: As for me, I can't wait for the next book in the series. I can't decide which character's story I want the most. It might be Shannon because she is the one who is the most closed off I think.
In any case, I will be happy: I received an ARC of the book in exchange of an honest review. Catherine Bybee has done it again. She has brought a hero and heroine together in the same story. It reads smoothly and holds your interest from start to finish. In her attempt to help the 3 women start living after their Alliance marriages end, Lori is the one to find love with a fellow cruise passenger.
Too bad you feel he is too good to be true and he almost is. Reed is an ex-cop turned PI and is hired by an unknown party to spy on the women during their cruise, so of course his chance meeting with Lori is not by chance at all. Don't get mad though ladies, Reed redeems himself later After winning the ARC and getting half way through the book, I went back and read the description: I feel very fortunate to have found these books and absolutely cannot wait for the next in the series.
Another winning story and a fabulous start to an exciting series. This author has once again out done herself with this book, the writing and pace of the story was perfect and the secondary characters added so much. I can honestly say that this is my number one author to read for my romance fixes. This is beyond a five-star book and I can hardly wait for the next story in this series.
Since then I have read them all and now I am re-reading this story as I have grown more acquainted with the original characters. During the Weekday Brides series, we see the couples enter into matrimony through unusual circumstances and sometimes even life-threatening. We meet Sam in the first novel and learn how Alliance is brought to life. Lori Cumberland is briefly mentioned at least once during the final installment of Weekday Brides series. I find it helpful to read the original series first.
I enjoy the First Wives novels more as a result. Now readers take a journey of what some of these arranged marriages look like after the divorce.
The first novel begins with the divorce party, which is mentioned during the original series but we never actually see what it looks like. I enjoyed that scene more the second time around and it was fun meeting some of the characters of these arrangements. I look forward to seeing how this series unfolds.
Of courses Bybee takes her characters for a suspenseful ride, which I always enjoy. One person found this helpful. Olivia is in her greenhouse when a more handsome than sin American introduces himself and offers her an int Olivia is a journalist who just finished an in depth article on Afghani women and is trying to get her boss to agree to her going to Iraq to gather information for another article she wants to write.
Olivia is in her greenhouse when a more handsome than sin American introduces himself and offers her an interesting proposal. Josh Morgan wants her to pose as his fiance and help him, using her connections to the rich and famous, get into some high stakes poker games. She warily agrees and looks at it as an adventure. Josh tells her they will both have to act like they are in love and will probably sleep together, but that there are rules. The most important, he tells her, is that he will not fall in love with her.
She doesn't want to fall in love; she has her career taking up all of her time and that is her one and only passion. This book is full of "James Bond" type intrigue, action and thrills. Romance and passion weave their way in as well. I enjoyed this book immensely. Olivia is a journalist who doesn't have a story to work on. Her boss told her to take a few weeks off. So she heads for home since her friend Justine us getting married soon and wants to spend time with her. That's when a friend do Alex comes to visit. But Josh is no ordinary friend and he has a proposal for Olivia.
Will she do it? Will her attraction to him get in the way? Great story Josh had a past that was complicated, yet filled with pain and lost love.
Olivia was looking for love and found it in the most unusual of circumstances. It is amazing how two people can be far apart but so right for one another. Trust goes along way, everyone has a story but it's who you love that ends up hearing the story.
This was even better than the first book Deception, it still had the old fashioned romance but this time the plot was like a James Bond script, casinos, yachts, arms dealers and more. A very enjoyable light read. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Pretty good free read.
Drew me in with the suspense of arms dealers but didn't deliver with the goods. The romance was nothing new but not unbelievable. No surprises, no frills, just a smei-entertaining story and badly in need of editing! Yes, this was a predictable book. Girl has some rotten luck in life and a handsome guy comes to hire her to act as his fiance and promises no romantic business. Even so, I enjoyed it. It did have some uniqueness and I like the characters.
Heavy on the romance, not quite so heavy on the intrigue. But it was a good, quick read once I got into it. Was hoping it was something that I could recommend to my boyfriend, but there was more romance than anything else. Back to the reading list to find something! Jun 22, S.
International Romance Series
Josh and Olivia make a good couple although their romance started in an unusual way. I did not get into this story like I did with many of the author's other books but I enjoyed the couple's adventures and was rooting for them. The sequel to Deception. Again it was an enjoyable read and I completed it in a few hours this weekend. And because I have enjoyed them I do hope she decides to write about Dirk, the SAS agent.
It was a bit predictable but sweet. Who Needs A Knight? Once Upon A Bride. Just A Kiss Away. Daniel and the Angel. Once Upon A Christmas. Fool Me Once Anthology.
